Client/Server - 2008/02/03 04:25 Dave,

Talk to me a little bit about the client/server approach, as opposed to using Remote Desktop to drive the robot with B.R.A.I.N. I'm using an Ad-Hoc WiFi connection, and I've not had a chance to try c/s yet.

Re:Client/Server - 2008/02/05 07:54 Sure - basically with B.R.A.I.N. you can install the exact same app on 914 as a remote client (say a laptop). Then you use B.R.A.I.N. in client mode on the laptop to connect to B.R.A.I.N. on the Robot (running as a server).

Any activity you do on the client is sent to the server, and vice versa. So, this essentially allows you control the 'bot without having to use VNC, remote desktop, etc. Also, the reverse is true - anything the 'bot does (video, sensors, etc) are sent to the client and the client GUI is updated to reflect the change.

For a few more details and some screenshots, see:

Does that help?

P.S. there is a new build coming which greatly enhances the C/S experience - I'd hold off for that (a couple of days).

Dave...
