RoboRealm Path Planning - 2007/10/25 01:45 This thread discusses the Content article: RoboRealm Path Planning

That's a simple navigation method. It might work ok with an overhead camera having a wide angle lens, with the image being rectified, or using multiple narrow field cameras. It could also be used for obstacle avoidance.

Re:RoboRealm Path Planning - 2007/10/25 17:25 The University of Plymouth (UK) successfully use this technique to control a team of robot footballers from a single computer. At one stage their Microsot league was one of the best in the world.

We breifly studied these sorts of algorithms as part of a vision course. The limitations to this system are lighting and the position of the gantry camera because effectively the world as perceived is limited to what the camera can see.

Re:RoboRealm Path Planning - 2007/10/27 05:12 Sorry to piggy-back on this post, but speaking of Roborealm...has anybody had success in porting Roborealm API into their applications - namely in C#.

I've been doing the Microsoft courseware to get back up to speed - haven't done any programming in 7 years - so if anybody has fun code snippets, pass them this way.

Re:RoboRealm Path Planning - 2007/10/28 06:02 I've used the RoboRealm sockets API to talk to Python programs, although this was mainly to get colour statistics and COG values. It should be just as easy in C# once you get your sockets client written and talking.

Looks like you have to use this method with C#:

There's a zip you can download with some example code in including C# by the looks of it:
