Re:Preliminary Python - 2007/07/17 22:24 I agree. The exact reason I came up with the rotating head mod... takes far less energy to move the head (1 servo, vs. 2 drive motors), and is faster.

But... it does add a small level of complexity in that you need to track the head position (easy to do by reading the servo position), so you know which way the head is looking relative to the body. (For example, If the head is looking left, and the sensors are in the head, and the robot says that something is in front of it, the object is actually to the left of the robot).

Too little time at the during design and production.

We will be offering the rotating head as a custom mod mod shortly.

We also have done a mod for a microphone array that I think would work well for the ultrasonic sensors.... I'll upload a picture shortly.
