914 Telepresence Project - 2007/05/30 03:34 This thread discusses the Content article: 914 Telepresence Project

you should look into "trackIR" it would be a better option, there is also a similar version using a web cam and leds to track your head movement. Having your head strapped to a medieval looking torture device would not appeal to me.........But I'm odd that way

Re:914 Telepresence Project - 2007/05/30 03:44 I looked at lot of commercial head trackers, the TRackIR ones are ok but they are limted in terms of angle/rotation. I also looked at some with gyros and even ultrasonic 'tracking in free space' types, but these are a little costly for a proof of concept. In the end it was just easier to build something to suit.

Of course you can use anything that will appear as a joystick in Windows now the base functionality is there, so it's easy to try out alternitives...

Re:914 Telepresence Project - 2007/05/30 15:28 Thanks, that's Cepstral Voices (Lawrence). It was easier to edit and get the voice-over correct by editing text than trying to speak it all myself and find somewhere quiet to record it.
