Adding a Drive bay LCD Module
Saturday, 02 December 2006
Image This small 914 customisation has been supplied by Dave Evans. Dave has added a drive bay mounting LCD VGA monitor to the 914 which also folds away neatly inside when not in use. Click on the picture to go to the image gallery to see the rest of the pics. Dave has supplied the following information:

"I ran across a great LCD drive bay module. This is a slick little LCD screen that stows away in a 5 1/4" drive bay on the 'bot. I found this one on eBay, so they are a little tricky to find, but they are around.

-The LCD Module is manufactured by Logitec of Japan (not the same Logitech [with an "H"] that makes peripherals). It is part #: LCM-T041A (there is also a LCM-T042A - basically the same, except it also swivels).

-The LCD module is powered by the 12V connector on the PC (same connector you plug into your CD drives, etc).

-It has a screen resolution of 640x480, so it's not as high as I'd like, but it still works great, and the screen is crystal clear.

-It has dual VGA (15 pin connectors) on it - one to plug into your motherboard, os you can use it as an external monitor, and another so you can plug another monitor into it".
